demo on a head

Here is a great video tutorial on using 5 tone values and how an old master portrait was painted using these basic principles.

Please remember…just because a head is used as the example here, this lesson does not just apply to heads, but to any subject matter at all.

Yes, you really can discover how to paint any subject matter at all right from the comfort of your own home.

This video tutorial is taken right from one of the video tutorials of my home study course, which you can download and start learning from within 5 minutes.

This video is incredible! It makes me get the feeling of tone values. I also showed this article and this video to a friend, she is a big artist, and teaches oil painting, and she also helps people like me,that want to learn how to paint through the Net, she uses the Orkut to give us tips and write important principles in painting and drawing.
Here in Brazil, we don’t have good material of painting, like tutorials, videos, and good sites, most important things we can use is american work, cause it’s rich in information and figures.
She just loved this article because is simple but complete and is a great way to help students to see the importance of tones in a painting.
I really hope you continue doing this wonderful work and sharing to us. It’s a noble attitude from a great artist as you are.
God bless you.
